Words of Saint Mother Theodore

Besides the admirable union that exists between
persons of different nationalities, of dispositions so
opposite, some well informed, others without
education, there is also among the Sisters a great
spirit of faith, of piety and a confidence in God
which goes as far, I believe, as it an go.
~Saint Mother Theodore Guerin~

In these words I find encouragement, even hope that as a nation we can still be that melting pot of nationalities that can come together in union.  Yes, as one so that we will continue to grow as a nation that learns from those who come to share this land with us.  We are privileged to be a country that has evolved because of the beauty of individual cultures woven into this tapestry we call home.  We become a people of understanding and compassion when we allow ourselves to learn from others who seem different that we are.

Thanks be to God!

  1. Especially in Christ, we are made one!! =] When we all have something in common - Jesus as our best friend - everything else is minor compared to that. I get so anxious about America, nowadays. Suspicion - jostling to be the "group" on top - competition - bitterness. Well, it's not the first time in history that this has happened!

    Lovely postings, Grandma K!!!

  4. Dear sweet Cathy,

Your visits mean so much to me; your words of wisdom and reflections of faith of what make our days mean something. In the midst of busyness and striving, HE is always waiting for us to come to the quiet and find rest. How true your thoughts are here.....when we are finally together in HIM one day, all the levels and differences in culture, education and status will be gone. HALLELUJAH! Thank you for the visit and yes, CINQUAIN POETRY IS FUN!!!!! Anita

This has become a new adventure. One in which I will try to express my journey with providence.
